TSO has been led by the music director and conductor of the Kyle Pickett since 2013. His dedication to musical excellence and commitment to nurturing the orchestra's sound have earned him widespread acclaim within the Topeka community and beyond. Under Pirckett's leadership, the TSO continues to thrive as a cultural gem, enchanting audiences with its captivating interpretations and inspiring musical experiences.

Since 2020, Cipriano has been the assistant and cover conductor of Maestro Pickett, and he also oversees the live-streamed production of the TSO concerts. In 2022, Cipriano wrote an arrangement for a flamenco ensemble and full orchestra for the season finale, which both the performers and the audience cheered. In April 2024, Cipriano will conduct the final subscription concert of the current season, featuring beautiful scores from old and new Hollywood releases.
