Teaching

Dr. Cipriano is the Director of Orchestras and a lecturer at Washburn University. He is teaching the following classes:

  • Beginning Conducting

  • Symphony Orchestra

  • String Orchestra

Research

Mr. Cipriano is currently working on web application to enhance the audience's experience in real time during symphonic concerts. Other research interests include:

 

- interactive educational software for music theory, composition and ear training;

- Artificial Intelligence algorithms for music composition and assisted composition;

- Artificial Intelligence algorithms to automatically model and develop musical expressiveness and musicianship in automatic or robotic performances;

- interactive systems of lights and images to accompany music (written or improvised);

- kinetic device systems which catch a conductor’s or player’s motion, in order to generate real-time visual or sound effects;

- Artificial Intelligence algorithm-assisted scheduling systems, to organize rehearsals according to musicians availability and department constraints;
